Well,
here's another installment (finally!!)
We
went to our season opener with a big gear change and a
lot of high hopes. Unfortunately, even though we were
heading in the right direction with our changes, we
didn't make enough rounds to see them come to fruition.
Our
first round Saturday was pretty much a shot in the dark.
We went fat early and threw that run away.
Second
and third rounds were progressively better and left us
racing against our old friend, Ray Cason, in first round
eliminations on Sunday. We go way back with Ray - he
sponsored our first pro-drag bike 10 years ago- but we
weren't quite ready with our tune-up to beat him. We
went out first round, but we went faster than we ever
have at 190 MPH, so I am confident our latest tune-up
has brought us some of the performance we needed. Let's
just say we ought to have a very fast bike to start out
with for our race in Reynolds, Georgia. By the way..
it's only 7 hours away and always lots of fun...
Anyway, here's a side note: Our pit bike (my personal
bike) made its quickest and fastest run ever at a local
bracket race at Bradenton Motorsports Park. 12.93 sec.
and 130.1 MPH. Maybe these are signs of the start of a
really speed-filled season!
See you at the
races... Keep the faith!
